We are celebrating our 10th anniversay. To the first 75 registrants to our show, a goodie bag including a T-Shirt and dash plaque was given out. But with the chance of rain being more than 60% on the day of our show, we were praying the clouds would not darken our day of celebration. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and no one could have asked for anything more perfect. The weather does not actually make a car show successful. A car show is only successful because of the people who take pride in their vehicles restoring, polishing, shining, polishing and more polishing finally bringing their hard work into the public for all to enjoy. Our success was very dependant on all those who brought their beautiful cars out for all to see how much they pour their heart, blood, sweat and tears into each spare moment they have, despite the weather. It is all for us. No one could ask for more from those people who continue to preserve these vehicles of today and yesteryear for all to enjoy. And it showed on Saturday.
The beautiful cars rolled in and before we knew it we had over 90 show cars and bikes. There were Mustangs of every flavor of course, Chevy Corvettes, Hudson Hornets, Ford Edsels, Pontiac GTO's, Chevy Camaro SS's, flocks of Ford Thunderbirds, Trucks, Pace cars, and Streetrods and Ratrods. There was something for everyone.
Many of our members grilled Hamburgers and Hot Dogs which were donated by Banner Ford. All donations collected from the food, will be donated to New Heights Therapy Center in Folsom, LA.
We like to thank the business who sponsored awards. This was our first "Open" show in our history. We love our Mustangs, but it was nice to see the other exquisite vehicles gracing us at the show. Another first was our 50/50 where we collected a record amount of $800.00 with the winner taking $400 home.
